Paying for Care
We are a small but growing queer family-run practice, and we want care at Transformation Clinic to be within reach. Here are the ways to pay for your visits, plus programs that can help with the cost.
Insurance
- In-network: Aetna, Premera, and Apple Health (Washington Medicaid)
- Coming soon: Regence and Molina
- Other commercial insurance: We can bill most commercial insurance plans. If we're out-of-network with your plan, you may need to pay out-of-network rates.
- Superbills: We can provide monthly itemized receipts (superbills) you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Please check your coverage before your first appointment, especially for out-of-network care. Medicare and Medicaid do not reimburse out-of-network care.
Self-pay
Our self-pay prices are listed on our Services & Fees page, and we'll always share pricing with you before any billable service. If you're uninsured or not using insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act (cms.gov/nosurprises). Need help with the cost? See our Rose Wong Financial Aid Program below.
Contact us for current fees and payment methods. We can share more about practice policies and fees during your initial phone conversation, before your first appointment.
Trans Youth Emergency Project
The Trans Youth Emergency Project (TYEP), run by the Campaign for Southern Equality, helps families of transgender youth whose access to gender-affirming care has been restricted where they live. TYEP offers:
- Patient navigation: one-on-one help finding care, including out-of-state providers
- Travel grants: $500 per grant, renewable up to four times a year
- Help with medical costs: in states where Medicaid no longer covers gender-affirming care, an additional $500 toward medical care

Rose Wong Financial Aid Program
In efforts to make gender-affirming care more affordable and accessible, we have created the Rose Wong Financial Aid program to supplement the cost for gender-affirming care appointments only. This is solely a need-based program - the fees for gender-affirming care appointments will be reduced for individuals who have a household income at or below 300% of the federal poverty line. (You can check using the WA Healthplan Tool)
If you would like to apply for this, please let us know at our initial phone conversation and we will provide you an email address to send proof of income.
In honor of Rose Wong, a fierce advocate, brilliant musician, and passionate med school friend. Here is a link to her music.
